The sunset over Sabaody Archipelago bled into the sea, streaking the water with fiery gold. You stood near Grove 17, staring across the surf, coat whipping in the sea wind. The kanji for Justice blazed bold across your back—weighty and solemn.

You had known this day would come.

“He’s near,” you muttered.

Your partner, Lieutenant Commander Haru, glanced up from the comm transponder. “You’re sure it’s him?”

You nodded. “Marco doesn’t make landfall without reason.”

And you were the reason, weren’t you?

The World Government sent you to stop pirate resurgence near the archipelago. What they didn’t know—or didn’t care about—was your past with one of Whitebeard’s most notorious commanders. A man made of fire and regret.

Two nights earlier...

You met him at a decaying outpost near Grove 42, where silence clung to the ruins like moss. It had been your meeting place once, long before the war, when you still believed in middle grounds.

“You’re out of uniform-yoi” he said with a dry smile.

You didn’t rise to the bait. “You’re trespassing.”

He stepped closer, casual and radiant with heat. “Only because I need to see you.”

“You shouldn’t have come.”

“Too late-yoi”

You lowered your voice. “Do you know what they’d do to me if they found out we talked?”

He studied your face, all humor gone. “Do you know what they’re planning?”

You froze. “What?”

“I can’t give details-yoi. But your name’s come up. Some in high command are calling you a liability.”

Your stomach turned.

You stepped back. “Why would I believe you?”

He didn’t answer. He didn’t have to.

Now

He arrived under cover of night, his form descending from the clouds in a blaze of blue and gold flame. The Phoenix landed silently, his body cooling to flesh as he walked toward you.

You waited in the clearing, saber at your side.

“You came to fight?” you asked.

He stopped several feet away. “I came to bring you with me-yoi”

You laughed bitterly. “That’s not going to happen.”

He looked around. “No backup?”

“I told them I’d handle you alone.”

“Still protecting me?” he asked, voice low.

You gritted your teeth. “Still giving me reasons not to.”

The clash began in an instant.

You moved first, blade arcing toward his chest. He caught it with a burning forearm, skin searing, but regenerating in a flash of flame. He didn’t flinch.

“You’re hesitating-yoi” he said.

You shoved forward. “So are you.”

He dodged, fast as ever, sweeping you off your feet with a gust of phoenix fire. You rolled to your feet, haki igniting around your fists.

Your strikes were fast, precise. He met them with heat and patience, parrying without rage.

“You’re not trying to hurt me,” you panted.

“I’m trying to reach you.”

You froze for half a breath too long, and he closed the gap, gripping your wrist tightly—but gently.

“Let go,” you growled.

“I will-yoi. When you stop letting them own you.”

Flashback - A year ago

You sat beside him on a broken stone ledge of a forgotten island, legs dangling over the edge. The sea was dark, but calm.

“Ever think of disappearing?” you asked.

Marco smiled faintly. “All the time.”

You leaned against him. “I could run. Change my name. Burn the coat.”

“You’d miss it,” he said.

“Maybe. But I’d miss you more.”

You didn’t kiss him that night. You just sat there, feeling the weight of decisions neither of you were ready to make.

Now

You launched a furious assault, striking harder than before, tears clouding your vision. He blocked each blow but didn’t retaliate.

“You think I’m being used?” you shouted.

“I know you are.”

“I believe in what I do!”

“I believe in you,” he said.

The words hit harder than your blade ever could.

Eventually, he caught you—arms around your waist as you struggled, both of you breathing hard, sweat and ash clinging to your skin.

You slumped against him, exhausted.

“What do you want from me?” you asked.

“I want you to stop sacrificing yourself for people who see you as a tool.”

You shook your head. “I can’t leave. I can’t be like you.”

He stepped back. “Then don’t be like me. Just...be free.”

Later that night, you sat alone beneath a mangrove tree, staring at the white Marine coat folded neatly on the grass beside you.

Memories came in waves—training drills, missions, accolades. None of them felt like home.

But a quiet moment aboard a stolen dinghy, Marco laughing as you tried sake for the first time—that did.

At dawn, you stood on the same dock where the Phoenix first touched down. The air smelled of salt and smoke.

He stood by the water, waiting.

You approached slowly.

Then, without a word, you dropped the Marine coat between you.

He didn’t smile. He just stepped forward and took your hand.

“I’m not choosing you,” you whispered. “I’m choosing myself.”

He nodded. “Good. That’s who I fell for in the first place.”

Together, you walked toward the rising sun.

okay so i personally love pink, whites, browns, cream colours and just general neutrals-pastels in the autumn, but you can adjust this to ur personal aesthetic and however you see fit!

the first thing i think of when i think autumn is layering. layer layer layer layer. tops and sweaters, cardigans, jumpers, leg warmers, tights; to keep you warm and pretty ♡

pay attention 2 fabrics! knitted, cashmere, fleece, flannel, all the cosy sorts are perfect for the autumn months ♡

patterns like stripes, leopard print, chevron, argle and plaid are so cute and simple, esp in october / november ♡

neutral colours, like beige, white, brown, cream, grey, black, and pale variants of colours too i think work so well esp in the autumn ♡

anything fur lined is absolutely adorable i rest my case

MASSIVE COATS. i have this big trenchcoat my mum had since i was a baby and i wear it EVERYWHERE in autumn ♡

boots are THE autumn shoes, bonus points if they're fur-lined. they just look so so cute ajdhfjsfjhsjf♡

knit hats and small hair accessories, bonus points if they're in the pretty autumn colours ♡

Honestly really love that godpoke is completely silent throughout the entirety of Great God Grove. Like. REALLY love it.

There's just something so compelling to me about the fact that they're there as a tourist to see the ascension of the God of Eloquence. They worship King, a god who is all about talking and communication, meanwhile, they don't speak a SINGLE word throughout the whole game. And they STILL manage to save the world and solve issues that involve heavy communication.

Sure, they have megapon to help them, but they still have to have a good understanding in order to use her correctly and make their way through the game successfully. I dunno. This is probably just me projecting, but it just feels like a nice way of saying "there's more to communication than just verbally speaking", and how even if someone can't communicate in the same ways as you, it doesn't mean they're dumb and don't understand things all the same.

I know that probably wasn't quite the message that was being conveyed there? Godpoke not talking is probably js purely for the games sake, but still, it's nice to be able to take it in another way. It's why I headcanon them as being completely mute, I just see a nice message in there regarding things disability wise. Like, even tho we're disabled it doesn't mean we can't do the things abled people can, yk? Like. I'm not mute, but I am autistic, so I completely understand people assuming you to be dumber and lesser just because you're disabled and can't/don't communicate in the ways that THEY want you to. ESPECIALLY when going non-speaking.

Maybe I'm looking too deep into things, who knows, that's just what I do giggles

I dyyuuuneooooo anyways them having a friendship with king also makes me really jolly,, I don't quite have the words to describe what I mean right now, maybe I'll go further into it when I can think straight. tbh I'm also the BIGGEST scaredy cat, you have absolutely no idea, and Hemlock Grove wasn't scary at all to me!! the only thing that bothered me was the gore, which doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's quite graphic... like, guts hanging out and blood gushing and ughhh ewww😭 but you can usually just close ur eyes and it'll be over in a sec, it's not to the point of Game of Thrones for example, so I'd say it's quite doable for scared ppl like u and I🙈

MINTHARA, SPEECH PATTERNS pre and post tadpole, DROW LANGUAGE.

minthara knows more than a few languages, but the ones nearest and dearest to heart are those of her people—the specialized drow sign language all of her ppl use to be able to hear any sign of enemies n keep from alerting other drow or predators to their location. common drow—which she speaks almost disdainfully, with short, clipped sentences as orders to those beneath het. and finally, high drow—which is reserved only for nobles such as herself n high priestesses.

high drow is often referred to as the language of spiders and snakes. vowels are hushed, rich, deep tones, consonants are hot huffs, with only qs, js and ts really cutting through ughs ands uus and eas, and ees, and haas, and is spoken in slow, lanuguid, carefully chosen iambic pantameter. their wizards are called “snake chanters” by their slaves. drow of all classes often use sounds like cat chattering from the back of their throat/the front of their teeth to signal basically the sfx of a spider’s leg crawl in a cartoon. if you hear the clicking, shit is abt to go down, n its a sign from somebody to watch out or run.

drow typically learn modern “common” customs from those they enslave or pillage from, as well as their network of surface spies. modern surface spues typically become teachers in their elder years. often, drow are out of date on what the surface is like by hundreds of years, and bc of this, there speech is always more formal.

due to the vowel/breath heavy, tongue muscle memory of drow, common comes almost too easily, except that drow often go hard on those consonants to express dominance and further mastery to make up for the lacj of it in their own language.

high drow is literally a secret spoken between “sisters.” common, for all people, is something most drow despise. and yet, there is a beauty to the way it deepens their voices, makes them louder and more brash, the way words can be ordered so quickly and punctuated so properly.

common poetry is a fun party trick. like being able to sing opera for a stadium. often noble girls amuse themselves with dirty common limericks no human could remember even their grandparents ever saying, like high schoolers amusing themselves with teaching each other curse words in other languages. the louder they get, as if playing the “ penis” yelling game—the more likely they are to be scolded and punished. but even drow have fun!

minthara often enchanted lovers with her low, deep voice and poetry. she finds a fascination with the double meaning and entendree of common. she loves their metaphors, it reminds her more of their sign language and dance than high drow does, which has so many rules and layers so ancient, it can sometimes be restricting, especially when spoken near an elder, and sometimes the double meanings ate so hidden behind age that the meaning of sayings from the dawn of time seem meaningless to minthara, even devout as she claimed to be,

(minthara’s mother would hit her when she caught her using common with her schoolyard crushes to impress them. it made double down deeper in private.)

in general, minthara speaks common with confidence—but without the absolute’s chaotic influence freeing her from self-influcted rules and restrictions, minthara keeps herself to her confident, low drawl, making sure not to burden her words with too much emotion, and yet speak with all the intention and practice her drow upbringing AND secret queer parlor trick language requires.

it really is an alto ballad coming from her

it’s funny because i think the absolute unleashes and frees her, in a way. she would still have killed the grove, even if it wad cruel, if she wanted to. it would have been pointless at the time, but she can see reasons why one would do it, (they are weak, they are unable to fend for themselves, they are burdens, etc.)

but she WANTS structure and order and intention, and more than that, the structure, order, and intention that she herself provides for herself beyond gods and politics beneath her. i think common appeals to that, bc she would like to Rule All, not just drow.

also, im thinking about drow masculinity vs femininity and if they could even have butchness except as a performance of female knighthood/strength/semi-subverience to noble women in the guise of a service role of masculine strength. like it would be different than butchness, but also it would kind of be butchness…. but also minthara is a paladin… so a knight… and she “instructs you”….. idk, she has a very kind of butch bisexual energy to her, lets not lie, n whats better than this, a drow woman who doesnt want to habe kuss, who hates her mother and female god, but still wants to dom and 69 you. nothing….

the whole “block all celebrities” thing is kinda goofy. i understand what y’all are trying to do 100%, but remember if only a quarter of the population is blocking all these celebrities not much is going to happen. if you’re so serious about it you have to end all subscription’s to pretty much everything. including amazon, hulu, disney, netflix, spotify, apple music, hbo, etc. everytime you stream a movie or song money is being sent to most likely sex trafficking & celebrities, and their record companies. block all ads, businesses, etc. just blocking celebrities ain’t gonna do much. i also think it’s funny how now everyone is being “woke” about what really goes on in hollywood, and the elites. we ain’t the first generation to notice & find these things out yall. i am happy that some people are trying to actually change things though. i hope someday we can ruin the elites. it’s also not just celebrities, it’s also politicians and the government. the politicians probably have more power than the celebrities. so instead of voting for one party every 4 years, how bout we actually make a change. you can’t be saying all this shit about boycotting celebrities and then still dick ride politics & vote. don’t add up lol. we had all the proof years ago with epstein, but y’all js chose to be like “wtf that’s so wrong!” and then do absolutely nothing about it. y’all saw all the people on the list, and the literal proof and still chose to support and stream those people. the celebrities you love are all in on it. atleast the ones that are signed with companies. nobody is safe, everyone around you is not trustworthy. perfect example: drake. he been fucking minors, and literally running a sex ring. proof been all right there, and y’all still chose to ignore it or “don’t believe it” because it’s a celebrity like????? r y’all slow??? the government is literally trying to take away birth control from women because apparently it’s “unnatural”. apparently girls can be ready to have sex at age 3, and be pregnant. wtf? y’all see this shit and don’t even say anything or try to really change anything. don’t get me wrong… the people who protest and risk their lives daily to try and make a change for women are fucking amazing. love y’all for that. y’all can act “woke” but at the end of the day we all know you’re just following the trend, and don’t actually care nor act on it. there’s billions of proof, and fucked things that have happened and everyone chooses to ignore it. while over 80% of americans are starving and struggling to pay for basic needs, elites are out there spending $75,000 for a met gala ticket. a fucking fashion show that probably sells little kids inside. don’t forget about bohemian grove. absolutely sick. ryan garcia spoke out about it, said all these things he saw n heard, and had proof and you all still ignore it and think he’s crazy. it’s giving insane hypocrisy from all of y’all. you cannot be posting and saying all these things about boycotting celebrities & the elites while not doing anything about it and continuing to ride their dick. just remember every-time you stream a song, watch a movie, and give them views you’re contributing to a young child getting sold off into sex trafficking. stay safe, don’t get kidnapped by drake❤️

so with ‘i wanna be yours’… that’s an iffy project. i do really want to continue it, but lots of things are wrong with the smau aspect of my blog. first of all, they really deleted the apps that i was using to make the smaus so like rip, idk what i would do there :(( also i think that this time, i want to to stray away from doing smaus and focus a lot more on writing. 90% of the reason i did smaus is because doing chapter fics frightened me and i need to overcome that 💪🏻

i think for the time being, i’m just gonna focus on writing some short-ish things for jjk, maybe get back into writing for haikyuu because i miss my boys, and maybe genshin impact again after a while. BUT!!! the next big project i’m going to do when i get back into the grove of tumblr is do a remastered version of the santa baby smau that i did forever ago, as a written chapter fic because i have so much i want to change about it and upgrade because of s2 👁️👁️
